MY LIFE - GURU POORNIMA

Wanted to write for a long time.. No time and was not fascinated by anything to write. The post about the three people in my life will come later. This is about one special and best day of my life.

Generally, People have different thoughts and opinions about Teachers day. Some remember it for their awesome teachers and while others for how mokka their teachers were.  Besides other things, i will always remember teachers day for the Guru poornima day celebrations in my school S.R.D.F.V.V (By now you should have goggled it.)

Guru Poornima day used to be a really big thing in my school. The stage is set and the photos of Ramkrishnar (he is considered to be the ultimate guru) and some other gurus are kept. Flowers are arranged beautifully beside the photos and a big lamp is lit. The principal thinking that she is the queen of England takes her time to come to the stage and then the long pooja starts.

Like the tea master in tea shop aathifying tea, the Bhajan goes on and on. There are  couples of songs which i like and are really heart warming. Then the principal gives a long speech about how we are grateful to study in that school and how we should respect our gurus (blah.. blah... blah...)

The reason why i want to write this post was after the bhajan, they will ask the class leaders of all sections to come to the stage and offer flowers to the photos of the guru. This is a special opportunity which you get only if you are class leader. Now i always envied the  other class leaders for this and had always wanted to become one for this reason (How silly eh..?).

Anyway, i tried becoming one every year from 5th standard but luck was in the other platform. Then surprisingly in 10th standard, i was made the class leader for my section ( lacked all qualities of a class leader) and was eagerly waiting for the guru poornima day so that i could get to the stage.

Then  the day came. On September 5, 2006, the bhajan went longer than usual time and then they called the class leaders and told them to go to the stage to offer flowers to the gurus. Yay... i felt like i had conjured the world and smiled like a 1000 watts bulb. It was one of the best days of my life.

To think of it now, i feel stupid and wanted to write about it.

Happy teachers day everyone..!!!

GOD BLESS.

P.S : Remember Mata, Pita, Guru and then only God.
